Sheikha Maytha Bint Obaid bin Thani Al Maktoum’s monumental composition entitled Dubai presents viewers with a symbolic depiction of the modern-day metropolis as viewed through eyes of its main protagonists.
Dubai is a large powerful symbolism work of art where you see the figure of a female in her Emirati custom heading at the first break of the day, while the moon up in her horizon sky fascinated by her beauty that cannot row back to other skies and the sun disparate to rise on the sky of Dubai.
Dubai holding in her right hand the astrolabe as it symbolizes her awareness of her location and timing of the world. Moving ahead of the whole world, while the white birds represent the people of Dubai living in peace sewing the threads of her dress. Each one playing their role peacefully.
